What’s Going on in my FREEdom Solution Taxi?

The Features:

Credit and Debit Card Functions:
Exciting and long-overdue, debit and credit card equipped taxicabs give passengers the same conveniences they already receive at the supermarket, gas pump, online and virtually everywhere. Passengers no longer have to pass up a taxi ride because they didn’t get to the ATM.

Passengers swipe their own cards and have full access to the complete itemized fare. All passenger credit card data is secure, protected and encrypted throughout the authorization process, and for added security, we do not store any passenger confidential credit card information. If passengers are unsure how to use the system, the driver can use the DIU to assist the passenger throughout the entire process. In fact, he can do everything except enter a tip and swipe the card. Plus, all of our installed solutions are configured to accept “swipeless” cards – the future of credit card technology.

Our 1-2-3 credit and debit card processing system gets passengers on their way and drivers onto their next fare quickly and efficiently.

1.The passenger selects the method of payment.
2.The passenger enters the desired tip amount, made easier with our tip calculator which provides one-key 15%, 20% and 25% options.
3.The passenger swipes the card.

The fact is – credit and debit cards are more convenient, faster and safer than cash. Drivers can feel safer by carrying less cash and see their tip amounts and passenger volume increase. Drivers don’t need to fumble for change and can receive payment for their credit card fares as fast as the next day.

CMT with Mobile Knowledge and our exclusive strategic business partner, Bank of America, offers the most reliable in wireless services resulting in swift and easy transactions at the lowest fees to drivers.

Map of the Passenger’s Journey
The PIM provides the passenger with a real-time map to track their journey. We provide two maps, actually. One is a “street level” view which identifies surrounding streets and the other is a “borough level” view where most of the journey can be seen. Multi-colored dots indicate the starting point, route traveled and current location.

“NY10” (Clear Channel’s In-Taxi Media Content)
“NY10” (New York Taxi Entertainment Network) is a unique blend of entertainment, news and advertising, appearing on the Passenger Information Monitor in the backseat of every FREEdom Solution taxicab. Backed by Clear Channel, an international advertising leader that dominates the New York taxi advertising market, “NY10” features high-quality and engaging content that is tailored to both the busy New Yorker and the curious tourist and is great for both long and short taxi trips.
Features include:
  • Varied content that changes regularly.
  • Exclusive “ticker” content, also backed by Clear Channel, which will stream across the bottom of the screen. Passengers can choose up-to-date informational content from a broad list of categories including sports, news, weather, entertainment and business.

TLC Information
The PIM also provides passengers with relevant information provided by the Taxi and Limousine Commission about rates, rules and passenger rights.

Text Messaging:
The TLC or the fleet can send text messages to drivers concerning traffic, lost luggage and emergency alerts as well as information about fare opportunities such as cruise ships disembarking at the Piers or trade shows letting out at the Javits Center. In addition, drivers have the capability of sending pre-defined messages to their fleet. For example, “Breakdown: Send Tow Truck.” Technology enables text messages to reach as few or as many drivers as desired.
